I'm Just Saying

I think it would be a good thing if people felt constrained to ask and listen rather than to offer advice or assurance about a situation with respect to which they know nothing.

If you have not balanced on the crumbling edge of a precipice, please don't tell me how to do it.

I suspect that even somebody who has "balanced on the crumbling edge" should not give advice. They could possibly share their story but everybody's situation is different so how can anybody really know what to say. I will strive to remember your words - ask and listen.

I need to start at the beginning of this blog and put it in my reader and actually consider Advent.

All journeys of grief are unique in their pain...though it would be hard indeed if we could not offer a hint of hope forged through our own experiences of suffering.

But to advise? That is indeed dangerous.

Hoping that you are surrounded by people who can ask the questions and listen to the answers and sit with you ...and praying that you will one day find that the edge is further from your feet.
